Like any good rake, he goes about wooing her in a most ungentlemanly way--with a wager that she will marry him by the end of the season. Fortunately, the independent Brina is more than a match for this unlikely Earl, and makes her own bet that he can't survive without his vices while he woos her. VERDICT The book is carefully plotted, with instant chemistry between the leads, and a heroine with some depth.
