International GA Leaders Meet in Washington, D.C. • General Aviation leaders from around the globe gathered in Washington DC from the 7th to 11th May. Andrew Andersen, Vice President Pacific Region, International Council of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Associations, reports.

AMTC Overhaul Threatens Safety: AMROBA • Aviation Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Business Association (AMROBA) Executive Director Ken Cannane has sounded a warning about engine failures should CASA implement plans for CASR Part 43 as they stand.

Class 4 Medical slated for 2025 • The new Class 4 medical standard is unlikely to be introduced this year as CASA waits for the Class 5 post-implementation review to be done in early 2025.

Binskin re-appointed as CASA Chair • Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Mark Binskin has been re-appointed as Chair of the CASA board for another three years, the Federal Government announced yesterday.

Consultation due on New Bankstown VFR Lanes • CASA and Airservices Australia will begin consultation next month on a proposal to create two new south-east VFR lanes for Bankstown Airport.

Mooney to Mildura • Newly retired, Jane Errey embarks on a six week trip to and from the Australian Women’s Pilots Conference in Mildura.
